What Is Master Resell Rights (MRR)?
Master Resell Rights (MRR) is a type of digital product licence that allows you to resell a product and — crucially — pass those same resell rights on to your customers. When someone buys an MRR product from you, they can sell it too.
This is the key difference between MRR and standard resell rights. With regular resell rights, you can sell the product. With Master Resell Rights, you can sell the product AND your customers can sell it after purchasing from you.
How Does MRR Work in Practice?
Here is a simple example:
- 1.You join PLR Digital Club and access an MRR digital course
- 2.You sell the course to a customer for $197
- 3.Your customer can now also sell that course and keep 100% of their sales
- 4.You keep 100% of what you earned — no commissions, no revenue share
MRR vs PLR — What Is the Difference?
| Feature | PLR | MRR |
| Resell the product | Yes | Yes |
| Keep 100% profit | Yes | Yes |
| Rebrand as your own | Yes | Usually No |
| Edit or modify content | Yes | Usually No |
| Pass resell rights to buyers | No | Yes |
How to Make Money With MRR Products
MRR products are particularly effective for high-ticket sales. Because the product comes with resell rights, you can justify higher price points — buyers see it as a business investment, not just a purchase.
Common approaches:
- •Sell on Etsy or Gumroad — list MRR eBooks and templates as digital downloads
- •Bundle with PLR products — combine MRR courses with branded PLR templates for higher perceived value
- •Use as a premium upsell — offer MRR products as a high-ticket backend offer after a free lead magnet
